{Vienna} Hallstatt, Austria

We visited a lake town in Austria called Hallstatt a week ago. It was lovely and peaceful; as usual, we had an amazing time. These are my favorite pictures from the weekend.

This is in the Catholic cemetery next to the church. The town is built on the side of the mountain with limited space, so they would bury the dead, leave them for 10 or 15 years, then dig up the bodies and put the bones into the Beinhaus -- the bone house. There were thousands of skulls and bones in there, quite a strange site.

We took out a few paddle boats on both Friday and Saturday to the middle of the lake. It was great fun! We girls jumped into the cold water over and over, it was refreshing on such a hot day. I heard someone say the lake is 308 feet deep.

Pretty place.

photoshoot.

Last week I got to straighten my hair {for the first time since April, yay!} and Krystle did a photoshoot. Jess was the 'bridesmaid,' and carried my bags around for me everywhere. You girls are awesome!

{Vienna} More From Dorfgastein

More from the lovely Dorfgastein. You all might be sick of seeing it, but I keep finding more pretty pictures. This trip was back in the beginning of June.

This picture is for you, Dad. I thought you'd appreciate the massive wood stacks.

{Vienna} Salzburg

I realized I never finished uploading my Salzburg pictures...sorry. Salzburg was pouring rain most of the time we were there and bitter cold, but I'm going back again when my Aunt Kathryn comes to travel with me at the end. I'm excited to see it again {minus rain and cold}. They told us that Salzburg is the rainiest city in Austria and possibly Europe {?}.

This is on top of the castle overlooking the city.

On top of the castle on a blustery day.

We visited a famous egg shop where they have thousands of hand-painted, blown-out eggs. Pretty little things.

I think this fountain is in The Sound of Music...anyone know?

Not a fantastic picture, but these arches are definitely in The Sound of Music. Doesn't Maria run through them during the "I Have Confidence" song?

This is a view of the castle from the city.

Not the same ones from the movie, but the cemetery was made to look like this I believe. At least according to our tour guide.

This lovely place is in the movie during "Do-Re-Mi" I think.

This is part of the fountain they dance around and the stairs in the back on the right side for "Do-Re-Mi." Please excuse the foggy spot; my camera was really cold that day and would fog up every time I turned it on.
